Starting her musical journey as a Midwestern kindergartener with piano lessons, choir practice, and recitals, Rhode Island–based singer-songwriter and pianist Sydney Sharp brings a distinctive vocal timbre and ethereal quality to contemporary R&B and pop, infused with vibrant Afrobeats.

Before pursuing songwriting, Sydney channeled her passion for science and education, working as both a practicing veterinarian and a college professor. Her empathy and innate understanding of human connection shine through in her music, where she seamlessly blends vulnerable R&B grooves with polished pop sensibilities. Sydney’s deeply moving songwriting explores love, the complexities of relationships, and themes of empowerment and inspiration.
